  • This is indeed a strange wine. Honey, petrol, nectarine, orange marmalade and a nose that indicates slight oxidation. But then, surprise, this nose is followed by a pungent lime and grapefruit acid attack, very focused, on the palate.
So strange, but interesting. And changing. Even caraway seeds. Better with every sip. 92-93

  • I can see why this wine has created some controversy, firstly I will say it is well made and the style is deliberate, dry grapefruit and acidic as many riesling are today, if you like the style you will love this, myself initially it was a SB look alike, nothing wrong in that but it is far removed from riesling as we know it, whilst admiring the wine itself I ask would I buy more of it and the answer is doubtful, as an adventure in style it succeeds but you have to like it.
Probably at or near its peak.

  • Pale gold colour. Medium and developing nose with peach, nectarine, wet stones, lemon, flint and petroleum. Pronounced taste of ripe green apples, ripe lemon, peach, nectarine, wet stones, flint and petroleum. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium body. A very good Pfalz Riesling GG that has matured beautifully. Drink now or over the next five years. Goes well with fish, shellfish or sushi.

  • Concentrated and long, but with a pseudo-Sauvignon Blanc profile that's just a little too outside the box for me: I find more gooseberry and grass than, say, lime and grapefruit. The sharpness is atypical as well, but maybe that's a subjective thing. It's a refreshing summer drinker, with an intriguing little bread note there on the end. But I'm missing out on the complexity and sheer joy that others have found.

  • Very solid GG with great riesling fruit on the nose. Medium to full body, nice symmetry, and a compelling finish. Further cellaring will most probably be rewarded. 93+
