Tuesday, February 10, 2004 A deep yellow color; clear and clean. Toast, butterscotch, vanilla, citrus, oak and more oak on the nose. Somewhere under the oak is some lovely Chardonnay fruit, but it just cannot compete with the oak. Similar flavors. Most unfortunate. A very different wine from the ‘97 that had a much lighter hand on the oak. Monday, March 29, 2004 VA very apparant. Some citrus, vanilla and toast, but the Va made it difficult to drink.
