  • The color is medium garnet with a tinge of brown. On the nose there's pure, aromatic, lean black cherry, with fresh mushroom, grilled meat, some iron and a hint candied red cherry. Palate is elegant in weight with fresh red cherry and sweet acidity. Mouth-watering. Minimal tannins and a bit light on the finish. Probably loosing it's stuffing to age, but still lovely. I'd love to try another to see if this is typical.

  • This is a flat-out gorgeous, traditionally styled Chianti Classico. It was probably a bit young to open, but I loved it. Probably my favorite red of theirs I've tried so far.

  • Really enjoyed this bottle. Sangiovese fruit grown biodynamically-organically, one of Monte Bernardi's riservas. Balanced minerality and firm structure, overall contributing to a graceful example of CC. Pure and expressive on the palate, improving with air time. Fans of Boncie La Trame may also appreciate the riservas from Monte Bernardi. Flat out delicious.

Run by an American family who relocated to Tuscany from Michigan. Their philosophy is committed to preserving the historic identity of CC. Excellent read on their story on their website... http://www.montebernardi.com/
