  • Pretty fresh and clean. Black currant, meat, tapenade, violet, dark chocolate and licorice. They are nice these wines from Souhaut. They don’t often move me though, they are a bit ”in between” the spunky natural wines and the soil-to-glass traditional wines - both of which I enjoy the fine examples of.

  • Unfortunately corked. Sounds like a good one based on the other notes.

  • Still evolving. Opened three bottles at the same time for a logistically complex distance tasting and there is clearly some bottle variation going on.

OPen nose with a lot of black and blue fruit but also some smoked bacon renderings actually, which does not really conform to my expectations of how Syrah behaves in these hipster hands. Some volatile acidity to make you feel calm again about what this is and a light fresh body with some structure and a little heat on the finish, this is a show of force still and it kept getting better in the glass with time and on day three of having been poured into a smaller vial. Some crushed pepper but not that much tapenade or raw meat. It's like it has opened up to another more generous side while still being in a state of metamorphosis at this point. Interesting to see what happens in 2-3 years if you have the patience. But on the other hand why would you - this has been nice and very much enjoyable from day 1.

  • Intense purple colour. On the nose light chark, smoke and olives, but above all fruit - blackberry, raspberry, lingon, sloan, blueberry. Leaning dark, but not sweet, rather quite elegant. Likewise on the palate with a crushed berry bonanza I've only seen the like of in Enderle & Moll wines, but here dark/blue, rather than light/red. Very fresh, juicy, salivating stuff. A bit singleminded perhaps, but there is enough depth and detail to keep things interesting. Problably some upside in that departement as well. Very good.

  • Coming out of the tunnel but still primary with good fruit, elegant body, very much about the freshness.
