Good energy, all tart cherry notes and a little plummy. Seems I like this a bit more than others here, maybe time has helped a little as it’s tried to come together and added some earthy quality. Although what’s holding it back is probably the vintage with full body and a lot of alcohol.

This was consumed over two night and I'm stumped. In fact, it really was only consumed the second night. A glass poured from Coravin the first night was "off" - too wild and funky and ripe and just kind of bad. I left it out for a while but dumped most of the glass. The next night I just decided to pop the cork. I poured right away and it was a different wine - very nice!
I bought my Coravin capsules directly from the company, so it seems very unlikely they're counterfeit. (I'd expect there to be counterfeits out there just filled with dry air.) Yet a day with a glass worth of Argon changed the wine. I think there are some volatile compounds that must dissipate when there is more vapor space in the bottle. That's all I can think about.
Anyway, this was full-bodied / ripe, but excellent drinking. A touch plummy, but crunching red fruits too and mixed spices and earthy undertones.
14.5% abv and the texture of the wine showed it, but there was no heat.

P&p. Fairly intense aromas of darkish, plummy fruit, spice, earthy/mineral pungency; attractive, despite a touch of explicit alcohol. Less successful on the palate; intense almost sweet fruit, alcohol, and tart acidity don't manage to balance each other and instead seem at odds. Maybe just needs time, but I really can't tell; maybe just a matter of taste and a Beaujolais vintage I should be wary of. But it is tasty and enjoyable for what it is, and the balance does improve somewhat with air and/or palate acclimation.

Pureté de fruits (fraise, grenadine), gourmandise, superbe trame tannique très fine, longueur, superbe profondeur de goût....magnifique vin !
J'adore
