I was expecting much better from this bottle. Maybe it's still a little young and a couple more years could give it what it's missing right now. Not too complex, with rough tannins. It was vibrant and this was its plus...

Raspberry, red cherry, violet and other floral smells on the nose. Bright and fresh in the mouth but also with some concentrated fruit, dark plum some liquorice. Still a good mouthful of tannin but fine tannins rather than grainy. Long savoury finish. Excellent.

Beautiful and approachable Nebbiolo. Very Pinot like however with more structured silky tannins. A bouquet. dark red cherries came across the palate and the aftermath of herbs and spice. Drinking beautifully now. However will only get better in the next 3-4 years

Prototypical Barbaresco. Elegant bouquet of red berries (fresh, in compote, preserved, and candied), orange peel, and light petrol. Very good power and surprising finesse. It screams for food, and paired amazingly with Stilton. It should be enjoyed over the next five to seven years.

Taste: Medium/full bodied with high acidity and high tannins. The tannins are silky and refined with the feel having a plushness to it backed up with red cherries, violets, cinnamon sticks, roasted herbs, and a touch of leather.
Overall: This is a pretty, young Barbaresco. It is well balanced with a fleshy side to it that should come more into harmony in about 8+ years.

Piedmont Trip, Day 4- Albino Rocca, Ca del Baio, Bruno Rocca (Barbaresco, Piedmont, Italy): Nose: The nose is ripe and perfumed with red cherries, raspberries, violets, cinnamon sticks, roasted herbs, and spice notes. There is excellent depth to this with the nose being fairly open at the moment too.
