Wine Tasting Group - No Theme - Oct. 12, 2019 (Classic): Aromas of green stems, herbs, ripe cherries, and a hint of band-aid. Bright ripe cherries on the palate with earth and a moderate amount of oak spice. Dense texture with nice acids for balance. With that density, tasted closer to a cold-climate CA pinot. Not too complex on the palate right now. 14% abv.

Thursday Cellar Visits in Burgundy - Lafarge, Lamarche, Château De La Tour and Dublère (Cote d'Or): Barrel tasting at the domaine. Red fruit aromas with floral hints come across as aromatically forward, then slight more reticent on the palate. Well balanced even while sense weight and slightly brooding. I often think of Pitures as a more firm, backward vineyard in the context of Volnay.
