Excellent, with salinity and vibrant acidity to counter the sweet pear and apple notes. Clearly still young, needs 4-5 more years to mellow into next phase but great to drink now.

Wine as a Journey (Bar Cleeta - Bentonville, Arkansas): Too young? How can that be said for something so delicious? Aged Auslesen are such a joy but even this youngster showed the spicy acidity to stand up to the residual sugar. Absolutely wonderful with the apple and pear tart. Chosen because many years ago, the first wine that caused John to truly think about what was in his glass was a 1976 Ockfener Bockstein Auslese from Dr. Fischer.

Excellent wine.
Beautiful honeyed and stone fruits.
Would prefer a bit for acidity to further balance out luscious fruit.
