Recent auction purchase....very thin and red fruited at the pnp. Decanted for 2 hours and enjoyed over 2 more before and after dinner. At 4 hours of air, it was its best with rich, dark red fruit, more integration of the remaining tannins and best weight in the mouth. Some guessed Wash St Syrah......given the floral notes, and spicy herbal qualities. If it were a tad blacker or a tad more herbal I would have said the same thing. But alas, a good Cab Franc will veer off and become its own animal and that's exactly what this one does. It's not a blockbuster but it's very nice and as long as you decant it properly, you'll be happy.
Only decanted for 30 minutes and I found nothing harsh or unsettled, though there was considerable sediment in the bottle The dark color and pleasing nose belied a fairly mellow wine with a smooth finish

This bottle, last of this vintage in my collection, has matured beautifully. Tannins rounded nicely, dark fruit but not too forward. Mild oak and a hint of spice. May be peak for this vintage. If you have this in your cellar, I recommend you find an opportunity to open and enjoy very soon!

The tannins in this bottle seemed to have finally turned the corner. Very tasty, spicy with notes of chocolate and tobacco. Just so delicious.
