Decanted for for 4 hours. Classic Nebbiolo. Feminine. Nose of dried roses, and cherry. Lots and lots of acid. Satin on the mouth. Anice, cherry, stems. Fine tannin that resolved as it decanted. Excellent.

Served to me blind by Thierry. I preferred it to the 2008 Scavino. A lighter, brighter colour than the Scavino. A savoury, earthy bouquet with spices, red cherries and other red fruit and a hint of rose florals. On palate, it's no shrinking violet. It's got serious dry extract, power and structure. I guessed it as a Barolo, rather than a Barbaresco. Dry earth, red cherries, raspberries and notes of dry underbrush. Good ripe fruit but dry across the palate and on the relatively long finish. To me, it had a balance and elegance that the Scavino lacked. It'll improve with 5+ years cellar time.

Earthy, gamey black cherry palette, with a juicy acidity, good structure, and firm tannins.

Tasted after 2014 Ovello. A bit warmer, less mineral and vibrant. Generous fruit, concentrated and rich. Decent acidity, very good length. 90-91+
