Drank over a few days and was very good. Peach, lemon, pear, vanilla, and caramel. Mostly round mouth feel with a bit of sharpness to it and some oak. Well done. Just not quite my style.

Now this is what a great Chardonnay should taste like. On the nose, vanilla, oak and hints of butterscotch and floral notes. The wine has a warming yellow color in the glass, reminiscent of a butterscotch candy. In the mouth, beautiful butter and butterscotch flavors complemented by a hint of Meyer lemon that are accompanied by a juicy acidity that seems to cleanse the palate. Love this wine.

The 2014 Williams Seylem Drake Estate Vineyard has an expressive nose of banana, kiwi, baking spices, and vanilla. This is reminiscent of a traditional “oaky” California Chardonnay on the palate, but it is not heavy and the oak does not overpower. Racy and energetic, the Drake Estate remains light on it’s feet throughout and offers a 30+ second finish.
This is in a good spot if you like to drink your Chardonnay with primary fruit and will make for some great summer drinking. However, there is enough acidity here to continue to drink well for a decade.

Very nice, lighter, fruity chard. Light alcohol. Light oak. Good summer choice
