  • This is a beautiful wine with medium legs and very little sediment in the bottle. The fruit aromas burst out of the bottle and linger in the glass. I was able to differentiate strawberry, blackberry, blueberry, black currant and raspberry and the taste of the same fruitful flavors did not disappoint. It has a very smooth, satin like texture with a medium to full body, which is not unexpected given its rich, dark, crimson red color. It has a nice acidity and a long finish. The last drink date should be updated to 2026 as the 2012 is drinking perfectly now. I noticed that the 2015 vintage of this fine wine received a 93 score from the "tough" "Wine Spectator" and was ranked 34th in the "Wine Spectator" 2019 "Top 100" list, so this wine is developing a fine vintage pedigree. It's one of the great current wine bargains. I'd be shocked if the 2015 tasted any better.

  • Deep ruby red with red brim, no age signs at all. Nose is developed, fruity, with notes of dark berries such as bramble and blueberries, some touches of oak, licorice and pine. Mouthfeel is fruity, with good acidity and nicely integrated tannins, and notes of red and dark berries, with a touch of oak and coffee. Very nice Bierzo, and very good value!
