If you check notes on various vintages of Pousse.s Bonnes Mares you will see my notes. I have finally realized I need more patience ..wait a minimum of 10yrs or longer for these BM. Although I will continue to open a new vintage a couple of years after release just to test the wine . I will wait on the rest. I wrote a few years ago that I was disappointed with the 2014 wine. Today after decanting and waiting a couple of hours ,I can say this has the potential to be a Wow wine. Dark red, good acidity, good sweetness , ample tannins that are starting to melt and soften, with great dark fruit flavours giving this wine good length. Gets better as you finish the bottle.

(BYO Blind tasting) Full and rich nose. Gunpowder and mineral. Succulent black fruit. Exotic spice and oak. Raspberry perfume. Deep and complex. Medium-fullish, powerful palate. High concentration. Toasty and long. Black and red fruit. Succulent and dense. Minerally and lovely. So hedonistic. We guessed on Grand Cru, perhaps a Clos de la Roche. One of the most generous 2014's we've tasted. No tartness, no sourness as many others have had. Will be even better in 5-10 years.

Nice nose of animal, un peu terreux, masculine, sous-bois, red cold cherries... a little bit austère, light tannin present but with underlying fruit, the austerity of this domain didn't balance the hedonistic Bonne Mares style unfortunately.

This is very approachable now. Slight fruit nose, medium red in colour, good acidity, a little tart on the palate, moderate length, dark fruit flavours. Underwhelming as a GC at this point in its evolution. An OK wine but dissatisfied in its lack of complexity or extraction of flavours.

This is still very young and needs more time! I opened this to see how its evolving. The colour is dark red with purple edges. Nose of slight wood/tannins. There is a dryness that persists in the mouth from the tannins. Fruit is there in quantity but very subdued while drinking the first glass of wine. The dark fruit flavours do pop out initially on the palate but only at the end of each swallow. This then opens up considerably after a few glasses with more fruit flavours but not enough for me to warrant opening another bottle for a few years. If you decide to open a bottle decant it and wait a few hours and it will improve. This is a well made Bonnes Mares and has the structure to become an awesome wine . I just need to have the patience to let this age.
