  • Popped and poured, then smelled and immediately decanted. Notes from 2 hrs open. This was painfully reduced at first, together with a bit of brett, but it needed every minute of air it got. Then, lovely, soft funk, dark plum, earth, cocoa powder, so classic. On the palate: fantastic acidity, more red fruited with cherry and pomegranate, but plum in the background. No tannin on the very vibrant and juicy finish.

  • A fantastic showing. These Charlopin wines are always daring with the amount of brett they present, and this was no different, but it goes so well with the other flavors. On the nose: soft funky reduction, roses, blackberry, asian spice, plum, then just wafts spice and plum. On the palate, fantastic acidity, plum, nectarine, spice, lovely texture and density, soft, finely grained tannin on the juicy finish. Yum!
