  I let this one breath for about seven hours and it still was a little tight when I began drinking it. Dark fruit, smoke and anise jump out of this very rich nose, you can spend plenty of time breathing this one in alone. The palate is slightly leathery but getting more air into it tamps this down. This is a big wine, with dark fruit, black licorice, charcoal and a tinge of earth. A big mouthfeel with a long finish round this out. I have had a couple of bottles of the 2004 vintage which I liked more than this but this was a fine drink.
