  • Appearance: medium garnet, a little hazy.
Nose: medium plus intensity; aromas of sweet vanilla ice cream, dark plum, stewed fruit, wet leaves, raisin. It’s fully developed.
Palate: dry, medium plus acidity, high tannins fine grained, high alcohol, full body, medium plus flavour intensity, a lot of stewed fruits and wet leaves on the palate. The finish is medium plus.
Overall, it’s a very good wine. Drink now, not suitable for further ageing.
I think this bottle is past its peak now. The fruit still comes through on both nose and palate as in above notes, however tertiary notes have taken over. The tannins offer mouth-coating structure to give it some extra layers. The fruit flavour will continue to fade, so drink it sooner rather than later.
