Halliday is an Australia-only wine critic. His ratings are always at least 3 pts higher than everyone else, the apparent agenda of pushing their wine industry. I like Aussie wine, but it *is* kind of annoying. I thought this was a nice wine, wide but quiet

Who is James Halliday and what is he smoking? 97? A travesty. This is an average wine worth about $20. Halliday goes in my Ignore file along with Suckling. The wine is tart and devoid of interest. Ptue!

We were very excited to try this bottle. 92 on Cellar Tracker, 97 on James Halliday. Not terrible, but not in the 90's. Tasted young, slightly tart. Still, well-balanced and dry. Excellent nose. Opened up a bit about an hour into drinking. The up-front tartness did not linger on the finish. Perhaps a longer decant would have helped. Or perhaps longer shelf-time (2020+ as currently recommended on CT) will bring this wine to life. Has potential.

I suspect about a year or so past its prime, but still very enjoyable. Very meaty/gamey. Paired with a ribeye.

Smooth older cab with plenty of throttle still in it. Smoke and game with nuanced dark fruit and long finish.
