  Nice Dolcetto that still retains its freshness after 8 years. Still has moderate tannin. Not quite enough acidity left for my taste, but still has some left. Palate is a bit simple, and dominated by mulberries and blackberries. Brought this to a blinds night, and the debate was between Mencia or an older Mourvedre/Bandol. Overall a good effort from Giacosa, although the Cogno dolcetto from the same year was drinking better.

  PnP. Dark fruit and floral notes on the nose. Blackberry, black cherry, & a little cranberry, along with leather and mocha on the palate. Faint tannins and smooth on the finish.

  Drank over two evenings. Very nice and better the 2nd night. Wish I had some more.

  Modest nose with faint traces of cherry and acid. The palate is ripe cherry, earth and herbs. There is more tannin than I would have expected interestingly and somehow this is missing the vibrancy of the fruit that the best Dolcetto have. Seems like a mediocre effort for this producer.
