Camphor and a hint of red fruit on the nose. On the palate, currants, black fruit, and earthy notes, with powerful acidity and a short to medium finish. Whatever tannins were here are fully resolved. This would work well with rich food, but it's a bit monotonous on its own. Reasonable value for the money at a bit under $20.

Significant improvement. Lovely deep ruby. Plenty fruits. Blackcurrants, black plum, tar. Lively acidity, medium length, fresh. Clearly needed a bit of time before coming out to play.

Decent wine. Great ruby colour. Fair amount of tarry black fruits. Nice balance. Strangely this wine slipped in and out of focus. Some mouthfuls were very good, others insipid.

Wow. So much better than the last one. What a difference a few years can make (or perhaps just a better bottle?). Rich, tangy, tannins. Plenty of body and good acidity. Balanced by fruit that while still strong is definitely in the background playing second fiddle to structure and secondary tones.
Reminded me of St Estephe.
Loved this wine, wish I had more.

A huge step up in drinking pleasure than my last bottle 2 years ago. Sleek, elegant and food friendly. Outstanding QPR.
