Complex. But, alcohol forward. Don't know the blend, but I approve of the robust flavor we seek. Novice review, I know, but this has the richness we deserve.

Earthy aromas at open, after 1 hour decant more dark fruit and vanilla. Fruit tastes of cherry and walnut on the finish. Rigid tannins. 4,18,6,3,4;50=85

It would be interesting to have a tasting comparison between this 2014 and the 2015. I had a small sample of the 2015, and I think I liked the 2014 better. I did not decant the 2014. A lot of fruit on the nose and palate immediately after uncorking, but the bouquet became less prominent as time passed, changing to damp earth and leather, with a hint of vanilla. The fruit on the palate evolved from bright ripe red currant to tart cherry, along with spice and vanilla. The tannins will carry this medium bodied wine at least another year, if not longer, and the acidity is a bit on the mild side. The structure has some depth, but not in a complex way. The finish is moderate-long, Overall, more satisfying to me than some other reviewers, and a good exhibition of Fronsac style.

From 375. Toasty, oak really standing out from the dark fruit. Concentrated but not a lot of lift or nuance. Good not exceptional.
