Still deep ruby in color and flexing a core of black briary fruit, this medium-bodied Pinot adds notes of holiday spice cake, cocoa, anise and red licorice. Fresh, seamlessly alcoholic (14.5%) and with silky-textured tannins, it injects a dollop of creamy oak and stays dense on the mid-palate. Concluding long and smooth, it should show well for several more years. This particular bottle was unscrewed and poured, requiring very little time to fully strut its stuff. Sadly, it is my last specimen from (now retired) Andrew Vingiello's stable. Drink now-2025.

This deep ruby Pinot has a nice core of black cherry and blackberry fruit, accented with notes of spice cake, cocoa and red licorice. Medium-bodied, freshly acidic and with nicely integrated alcohol (14.5%), it wraps its flavors with silky-textured tannins and a dollop of creamy oak. Solid in the middle and finishing long, this is a delicious New World interpretation of the grape that should provided pleasure for several more years. Drink now-2025.

Twist and pour and tasted with small bites of hangar steak and some goat cheese and crackers. This has a dark, earthy side, showing raspberry preserves and black cherry upon that earthy base. There is a nice spice element on the finish for additional depth. Enjoyable.

A classic AP Vin; fruit forward with excellent acidity. Should calm down somewhat with time, but clearly enjoyable now for those who like this style, which I do.
