Appearance: medium- ruby, tad bit of garnet at the edges, no staining, medium tearing, no sediment.
Nose: clean, medium+ intensity, developing, strawberry, raspberry, red plum, red cherry, rose, violet, anise, white pepper, clay pot, smoke, tar, forest floor, mushroom, walnut.
Palate: dry, high acid, medium tannin, medium alcohol (13%), medium body, medium+ intensity, long finish, red currant, raspberry, red plum, tart red cherry, rose, violet, anise, clay pot, smoke, tar, forest floor, mushroom, dried cranberry, dried sour cherry.
Overall: A serious, earthy, savory Beaujolais with solid intensity and complexity. Doesn't have discernible new oak nor carbonic characteristics, and it has a good amount of earthy tertiary development to balance out the bright red fruits. It has wonderful balance and a very long finish. Best with food, but it is also intriguing and layered enough to drink on its own. To my palate, this is probably at peak right now, but it has the structure and intensity to age for a few more years. Super great value here!

Medium-light brick color. Aromas of pomegranate, chocolate, leather, clove and bell pepper. Medium-light body, silky texture, intense citrus and powdery tannins framing raspberry and earthy flavors. Delicate, earthy, but fading, I fear.

Wine really strutting now, bouquet and flavor surprisingly rich and complex, almost Burgundian. Probably several more years of development.

Tasty wine with good accompaniment of spicy salami panini sandwiches.
