  • 11 years since my last note. Wow.
Dark color, near opaque. Nose of crushed blackberries and dark raspberries. Palate shows amazing verve for it's age. Still largely structured and yet perfectly in balance for what is is and was. I get some amazingly fresh dark fruits on this. What I don;t get is much in the way of secondaries that usually come with age. Terciaries need not apply at all! Tannins still control and acidity still present. It is a real treat to still have these in my cellar and I am glad I do. What an amazing testament to G. Pisoni's skills, even when we give the due to mother nature. I am quite blown away and that's not easy.

  • It has been five years since my last bottle, which I loved, and this was possibly better. It has lost some of its power, but the fruit is still vibrant. Dark color, redolent nose, and no funk whatsoever. Pure, delicious, and aged perfectly.

  • PnP (2 nights with little change). Inky violet. Lush dark berries on nose and palate. Almost palate-staining sweet fruit with some depth, but rather than 'proper' structure, there is a bit of etoh poking out. Agree with FM that this is quite Zin-like. Nice that the fruit is still fresh and expressive, but I like the newer vintages of this more.

  • Did i mention just how much Diane enjoyed this wine! Great body! Great legs! Great, luscious on the palate. I could go on. Just truly fantastic! But save yourself the anguish and buy a bottle.
