Much more approachable and enjoyable than the last time I tasted it (3-4 years ago). Shows the importance of cellaring this wine for at least 3-5 years. On the nose there's an explosion of smoked bacon (the French would say Lardon Fumé), espresso beans and dark fruits. On the palate it's as if you had pressed a few bacon strips into a juicy beverage...an amazing beverage! Tannins are still present and will need a few more years to become mellower. Great balance and finish. Decant for at least an hour if you open a bottle now or cellar for 5-7 years.

I will not rate this. Foch is distinctive and when I have drank older wines I have loved it. This one was very acidic and difficult to drink. I will follow the earlier note and leave the next bottle for a couple of years

Very good but too young...definitely preferred the 2009 non-reserve that I had last week. Cellar the 2014 reserve until 2021 to fully enjoy. Always this distinctive foxy nose/taste, with leathery/spicy notes.

Fruity and savory. Almost salty. Roast meat, candied bacon. Still have plenty of tannin and acidity.
