  • Last bottle of this and it was pretty good. Still got a core of red fruit and tasted relatively youthful. I'd hoped it would put on more complexity by now but I don't have another bottle to revisit in 3 more years.

  • Ruddy ruby red with a darker core and barely beginning to show signs of age at the rim. The wine has a musty aroma that never blew off. I only drank a glass the first night, and on the second night it was still dominating everything. Some hint of white pepper, tart cherry.
The palate has a light body, very thin and was lacking in character and flavor. I served it with pizza and cheese stuffed peppers, and the tart/acidic profile went alright with the fat content of the cheese. I would not purchase this wine again.

  • Drinking extremely well: Cabernet Sauvignon showing its fruit dominance with color, balance and smokiness coming from the Petit Verdot and Syrah respectively. Love the high QPR.

  • I think that tasted blind I'd have first guessed this a Brunello from a fairly ripe vintage from a solid mid-tier producer. $35 would be a reasonable price and I'd be happy with it. With time I would go to Super Tuscan as the Bordeaux varieties pop out. In fact I've read this is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Petite Verdot. So where do I get the Brunello impression if there's no Sangiovese!?! So would I have really gone there if tasted blind? Probably not. Yet it does show a couple of layers of cherry along with cedar, dusty earth, some leather peaking in, dare I say "garrigue", spices.

Yes, this is ripe and showing some age. (I'm moving my window up to end 2023 vs. current CT consensus of 2026.) But it shows such balance and it's so enjoyable. Coming into some tertiaries, but just a bit.

    Very nice QPR under $20.

  • Smooth despite medium grained tannins. Fruit has receded over last couple of years. Drink up! On the downside of the curve.
