Wines Tasted at HDH Auction: Tasting, brief note. Forward and fleshy back fruit with good spice. So tasty right now, probably better vs Chambertin for the near-term, even if less long-term potential to evolve.

HDH Burgundy Auction; 4/13/2018-4/14/2018 (Chicago, IL): Shows some intense oak characteristics on the nose. Even bigger and more dense than the Charmes. Blacker fruit, but so much density and power. This shows more closed down than the Charmes, and will clearly need a lot of time to show its stuff. On the other hand, there's no debate that this is the better wine.

Wines tasted at HDH Celebration of Burg Auction - Day Two: Wow, huge nose of rich black cherry, meat and spice. Young, rich and dense. Dense, chewy and big. Judicious but significant oak framing and polish. A great wine.
