Intriguing nutty oxidative flavors that dissipated over the course of several hours; This wine still has some acidity on the finish, but I would say this is on the decline

Deep gold. Last bottle of a close out case and all similar--aromas of dark honey, verbena, wax and lemon. Bone dry with a tart though now slightly anemic finish. Not as majestic as the older Baumard Savennieres but drinking this over the last years has been an enjoyable window on aging Chenin blanc. I am sad to see it go.

Medium yellow to light gold. Some initial sherried notes actually became less prominent, revealing orange oil. Full and long with great acidity and a strongly earthy finish. This basic cuvee still has a lot of life.

My other contribution. Very muted at first, almost dilute. Picks up weight and flavor with time. Apple, wax, and lemon rind, good acidity, nice wine. I like, but don't find the depth I had in '96 Closel or even the regular Baumard (good bottles). B

Gorgeous bright reflective gold color. Fairly muted mineral nose. Lime, strong minerals, aggressive acids, calcium and alkaline notes. Absolutely singing for its age.
