Good balanced Pinot Noir. However, fruit slightly flat, color slightly washed out and short finish, reflecting the wine being past its peak but still very drinkable

Good, gettin flabby. Brick red. Gentle Brett blows off to blueberry and dried orange peel which in turn dissipates to a nice mellow old dusty Pinot w/ touch of forest floor. Almost no acid left. Good value and was prob a 90+ 2 years ago.

Santa Maria Pinot Noir from sandy soils on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean 10 miles away. The coolest climate vineyard for this producer. Aged 15m in French oak (30% new).
Pale garnet color, verging on tawny. Strawberry, cranberry, mushroom, smoke and toasted oats on the nose. Delicate and graceful and very surprising. Smooth and rich on the palate, with dried red fruit, mushroom and blood orange, a frame of plush tannins and a smooth smoky finish.
Was not expecting this to be as good as it was.
