Pale ruby colour, tiny hint of browning. Muted nose of cherries, redcurrants. More vibrant palate - sour cherries, redcurrants & red berries. Low tannin. Medium + acidity. Medium length. Well balanced. 14% alcohol not prominent at all. Better slightly chilled (14-15degrees).

Black Lion Wine Club - The "new" Old World (The Black Lion): Pale ruby colour. Medium intensity aromas of ripe red fruit - cherry, raspberry, redcurrant. Youthful. Dry palate, medium (+) acidity, low ripe tannins, medium (+) alcohol, medium body, medium intensity red fruit flavours, hint of earth and smoke, medium (+) finish. Very well made, reminiscent of a good Beaujolais villages.

Light, clear, ruby but with just a glint of tawny. Bright. Nose is cherry and violets. Low tannin, but balanced and fresh, cherry and earth harmonise well. Bit of bramble on the finish. Easy drinking, think decent beaujolais.
