Phil's impromptu tasting fun (Phil's place, Putney, Sydney): From Coravin. Smells softer than the lupe chalot; a little cream, red and black cherry, sweet spice, tiny herbaceous note. Juicy, very slightly tart red cherry fruit, a little herbaceous nte here as well and a touch of woody texture.
Pale ruby in colour. Aroma of medium intensity, blueberry, cranberry, red cherry, cloves, vanilla, earth. Palate was dry with medium acidity, tannin and alcohol. Body was medium with a pronounced flavour intensity of ripe fruit, raspberry, black plum, red cherry, with a long finish. An outstanding wine with good length and intensity of flavours. Complexity shown in the range of flavours and well integrated tannin. Well balanced. By far the best Australian Pinot Noir I have tasted.

Oxidised, pale and lacking fruit - off bottle or poor storage may have affected

Stunning balance of fruit with emerging tertiary notes, undergrowth and integrated tannin.
