G5; 4+8*+4+8+8*+4*+4*=91 14.5% alc. Side by side with 2015 Purple Hands Le Nouveau Monde. Vintage and blend comparison by "sons of Oregon Pioneer winery fathers." Both are Willamette AVA blends. Darker, richer, more berry. Both were very good and ready to drink as compared to some of the other 2015s opened recently. These were more indicative of the warm vintage with more ripeness and early drinkability. This was a "typical" well-made Oregon wine with a medium finish, nice depth, but quite different from the Le Nouveau Monde wine from Purple Hands. Overall nice balance. Maybe another 2-4 years of cellar time with no appreciable improvement expected. Day 2 this was showing as much more ordinary with maybe even some diminishment, so drink "fresh" on Day 1.

PHMG WAG: Newer or Rarer Oregon Pinot Noir (WillLyon Valley): My score is actually from day 2. Day 1 it suffered from being tasted after the WOTN. A polar opposite in some ways from the Big Table Farms wine, more black fruit and stone, a slight carbonic note and more bitter - 88 pts at best. Day 2 the bitterness had settled, it was better integrated, and a pleasant cola note emerged along with the warm compote of berry fruit. Decant now or wait: 2020-2023. Just like their Dad's wines, this is probably better in the 5-10 year range.

Modern, featuring effusive berries, and a 'sweet' umami element. A vein of black earth sous-bois runs throughout. Medium acid and light tannins hold the wine together quite nicely. Drink by 2025. 90-91.
