Dinner at Kel's (Kelvin and Joyce's Place, Bishan): Very nice, but as with some previous vintages I have had, just lacking a bit of oomph. This had a very Fourrier nose, with notes of sweet red cherries seasoned with herbs and a sprinkle of Morey spice, and then showing a hint of roses and some damp earth. Very attractive. I liked the palate too. It lacked a bit of the usual transparency of some the cooler vintages, but there was still a nice purity to its flavours of dark cherries and red berries, these seasoned with a touch of orange peel and a little soupçon of spice. Plenty of fresh acidity on this too. A little thin for a 2015 I thought, but overall a really charming wine. Drinking surprisingly well now, but with some upside yet over the next few years.
