This wine was made of Syrah, Grenache, Viognier and Muscat d'Alexandria but as I understand it the Rossi Ranch vineyard was replanted a couple of years after this was made so it is unlikely that the same blend will be made again.
At first (day 1) the Syrah dominates the impression with structure and a mix of fresh acidic arctic blueberries and kalamata olives.
Day 2 the floral scents starts being noticeable (violets) and the Grenache fruit has mellowed the edges of the Syrah. A sweet grapey mid palate note I guess is from the muscat but as always one may be imagining such things from knowing the grape varietals. The finish is long and with a very complex and great acidity.
This would really be an interesting wine to sniff completely blind (i.e. in a black glass) even though the tannins would give it away as a red wine upon tasting.
Early days so don't be afraid to cellar a bit longer. A wine that manages to be both complex and meditative at the same as it is fresh and quenching in style.

P&p. Smells fresh and alive, like crushed, cool, barely ripe berries and peppery, gingery spice, with herbaceous/forestial accents and some underlying, dark, earthy, smoky depth. Tons of crunchy acidity. Delicious tart dark fruit. Quite an enjoyable, characterful, and fun wine!
Day 2: Same, just more open and expressive; even better than day 1. Pungent, moreish, excellent.

Refined, yet chugable :) Juicy, great acidity, but with some tannic backbone to keep it all in place. Well balanced and delicious.
