  Now this is seriously interesting and very, very young for a seven year old California Chardonnay. The strong pineapple signature of Marcassin is immediately dramatically in your face. What hits you right after is a strong sappiness of very high extract. Excellent acidity. Moderately strong oak is nicely buffered by the concentrated fruit even if there’s some slightly bitter oak tannins. If this settles down and becomes better integrated it could develop more complexity and become outstanding. Occasionally Marcassin Chardonnay lasts exceptionally well.

  Have been excited to drink the Marcassin Estate Chardonnay. The wine did not disappoint. Extracted a glass full using the Coravin and enjoyed it on a Zoom happy hour call over the course of 45 minutes. Deep yellow color, classic chard nose, smooth and long with little acidity. Not certain it is worth the hefty price....
