Very dense and concentrated, but keeping overall balance and a good structure. 100% Syrah from France's deep South, bordering Spain. Intense, jammy black berries, crème de cassis, chocolate, sweet spices, liquorice, port wine, plum, raisins, chocolate, nuts. A powerful, hedonist wine which paired well with our grilled entrecôte. Drink now and for another 5 years.

Clear deep purple with some sediments Quite intense and complex nose of mint, coconut, dried figs, dried plum, spices; with some time in glass, more ceder wood and dried figs developed. Intense mouthfeel of spices and mint, full bodied, dry, intense structured and ripe tannin, medium acidity, long finish of mint and figs
The intensity and flavour profile resembles a good ruby port with less sweetness and less alcohol. The high level of alcohol (15%) is often perceived as a hint of sweetness. The high level of alcohol and ripeness is balanced by minty herbal complexity. It should pair well with soft rind cheese, blue cheese, or cheese of intense flavors. This wine should age well for at least three more years.
The taste of this bottle deviates significantly from the first bottle I tasted last year, as it showed less bacon fat and smokiness typical of Syrah in the first bottle, but this bottle showed more minty herbal characteristics. It may be caused by evolution in bottle or significant bottle variation.

So well balanced. Black pepper, mint, coconut, dried fig. Just astounding. How I wish I could find more.

Pepper. Beef. Vanilla. This is a food wine, and it is delicious. Strangely reminded me of Barolo.

Pepper. Beef. Short taste of vanilla on the finish.
