Moderately translucent and still somewhat youthful ruby red color. Quite developed and enjoyably tertiary nose with aromas of leafy greenness, some herbaceous bell pepper tones, a little bit of sun-baked dark fruits, light notes ofchili powder, a hint of sweet blackcurrant and a touch of earth. The wine is ripe, full-bodied and dry with wonderfully velvety texture on the palate and nuanced flavors of leather, juicy blackcurrant, some woody pencil shavings, a little bit of beef jerky, light notes sour cherry bitterness and a sweeter hint of strawberry. The wine feels enjoyably structured with its rather high acidity and still relatively grippy tannins. The finish is juicy, silky and moderately grippy with long, complex flavors of dried strawberries, wizened black cherries, some juicy blackcurrants, a little bit of leather, light herbaceous notes of bell pepper, a hint of tertiary beef jerky character and a touch of earth.

A beautiful, harmonious and wonderfully textural red wine at its peak: the flavors are a delightful blend of fresh Cab-driven dark fruit, some developed dried-fruit characteristics and suave nuances of savory tertiary characteristics. Overall the wine felt like a developed old-school Left Bank Bordeaux from a warmer vintage and this impression was echoed by several people who tasted the wine (that I brought) fully blind. Perhaps not that representative of the region, since the wine felt more Bordelais than Sardinian, but a lovely wine all the same. Terrific value at 22€.
