Translucent ruby in color, this wine reveals noticeable funk on the nose which subtly fades to reveal spices, pomegranate and spice cake. The mouth feel is medium bodied with more spices and raspberry elements. The finish is tight and reluctant to fully integrate the fruit and acidity. 14.1% abv.
Purchased for $20US, this is a complex, funky offering that appears to just now be entering its prime drinking window. I'd love to taste this again in 2+ years.

Twist and pour and tasted with food and then on its own. Followed for about 4 hours. Tart and with a sour component. Looking back at my prior note, this did not have the funky Pinot funk as the first bottle that I opened several months ago. This is tart - under-ripe strawberries and cranberries. Red tart fruit. It's OK- it is just not particularly engaging. Sort of 'meh."

Twist open and pour. Funky! Pinot funk for days. Earthy, forest floor. Very primal. Smells a little like meat left in the fridge past its prime. Funky. Fresh red fruits with a fair zip of acidity. Will let this air out a bit.

4 Solid wine at the price point. Red and black cherry, blackberry, and a kiss of barrel spice. Plenty to keep you coming back to the glass.

Toasted marshmallow, cedar, and tart cherries with a slight alcohol burn. Good qpr.
