Blind Tasting May 8. Deep purple with medium meniscus and medium legs. Cherry and blackberry fruit on the nose, with tones of clay/earth/smoke as well. More fruit on the palate, including blueberry and date, with just a hint of paper. Good acidity with fine balanced tannins, with lower complexity than expected after the nose.

3.5 hour decant. Anise, moss, red apple core, and forest floor on the nose. Smooth, chewy, earthy palate. Round tannins on the medium finish. This lacked structure, but was OK.
