Light/medium ruby. Funky manure note initially which blew off quickly. Nose quickly opened up with raspberry, and dried herb scents. Soft, almost viscous palate. Red fruits, almost some sweetness. Got better and better as it sat in the glass over the evening. Lip-smacker, and would seem to have years of good drinking ahead.

Holiday Champagne Gala (Park Ridge Country Club): From magnum. This does not have the "Domaine Louis Jadot" indication on the label, so is the Jadot negociant cuvee. While not quite as great as the Domaine bottling has shown in the past, it is still wonderful. Lots of concentrated black fruit with meatiness, this is classically "Gevrey" with Grand Cru density, finishing with a slightly earthy and woodsy character.

Red fruit, some rough unresolved tannins, some leather and tobacco notes

C3. Classic 2003 in both weight and color. Burly. Not Burgundy but tasty.
