  • 13% alcohol, 4 g/l residual sugar, 5,5 g/l acidity. Tasted blind in VV.

Quite intense, concentrated grassy green color. Slightly subdued and somewhat waxy nose with characterful aromas of smoke, some quince, a little bit of almond and a floral hint of jasmine. The wine is quite full-bodied, ripe and pretty concentrated on the palate with surprisingly racy acidity and intense flavors of juicy red apples, some peachy stone fruits, a little bit of lemon marmalade, light steely notes of minerality and a hint of mango. There's a subtle touch of sweetness, but the high, structured acidity masks it well. Overall the wine feels surprisingly big, but very balanced and well-made at the same time. The finish is ripe, fruity and quite powerful with succulent flavors of red apples, quince, some nectarine, a little bit of mango, a hint of something waxy and a touch of anise.

A big but also enjoyably structured, balanced and refreshing white with a lot of substance but enough acidity to back it all up. Pecorino seems to fare surprisingly well in these moderately priced whites, lending a lot of fruit, depth and body, but also great balance and sense of structure as well. A positive surprise: nice on its own and I can see it pairing well with even some heartier dishes. Priced according to its quality at 14,90€.
