Popped and poured after getting the wine to drinking temperature quickly in ice.
Wine is bright and deeply colored. Almost golden. Quite clear. Almost looks like a California chardonnay.
However, on the nose, it reverts to form. Smoke, lemon, pear, peach, and a little hazelnut.
On the palate, wine is sound. It's really big - probably the biggest white burgundy I have ever had. Palate reflects the nose quite clearly, with medium-high acid, not 100% dryness, and a long, clean finish.
This is very good wine and I like it a lot, but I don't love it. I suspect many will hate it. Notably, in a prior wine-drinking life, bigger was always better. But now, I like my wines a little more restrained. What the heck is happening to me?

Burgundy 2015 Tasting (Knightsbridge - Northbrook IL): Tasting, brief note. Very enticing floral start with lots of riper styled fruit aromas. Peach flavors with good density and intensity. Forward and upfront, consistent with the majority of wines from the vintage.

GGs vs. 1er Cru Burgs (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA): Deeper yellow golden; honeyed, grilled lemon, good fat and richness, waxy, intense, lots of baby fat; delicious; 2016?
