Bright golden color. Appealing nose. Concentrated and well balanced on the palate, refreshing finish, even on the next day. Indicates a few more good years, but for my taste already nicely aged.

Really beautiful, high-toned nose of pear and buttered croissant, lemon peel, maybe some apple (smelled a little older than it was maybe?- but full of incredible energy), with nice, subtle rubber/smoke/mineral accents providing backup. Almost like a great Chardonnay nose but considerably brighter, plus more minerally and aromatic. It says on the website that this was aged on the yeast 20 months, which reminds me of champagne and this showed similar brioche tones.
Palate even more lovely with a burst of lemon/lime, tiny nuances of honey on toast, creamy texture and an everlasting finish with intense but ultimately gentle/friendly acidity.
I've enjoyed many dry rieslings, most $20 or under and a couple closer to $30. This was beautiful for $40, a tremendous step up in complexity from what I'm used to, as well as much more energy. I wish I hadn't shared it with 3 others, disappeared extremely fast.

TASTE: dry; lots of mineral; hints of woodsy spice, a sweet floral, and red licorice; 13% alc. not noticeable; *not* rip-roaringly acidic, which makes this surprisingly accessible for a 2015; acidity is in the medium to medium+ range; pretty darned good, and attractive QPR at $40; I liked this probably a point or two lower than I scored it, simply due to personal stylistic preferences, but I would buy this again. Drinking well now, but I would be curious to see where this goes with 10 – 15 more years on it.

NOSE: expressive; strong petrol; honeysuckle; slightly smoky; strong, inviting, and complex.

Apricot, apple, pear, lemon and petrol aromas and flavors. Very long finish. Well balanced. Served with smoked turkey.
