  Tar, rubber and smoky spice on nose. Deep, inky purple color. Cherry, hint of licorice, tart berry finish. Lovey wine - would be good for still another year, but not much longer. Recommend decanting. Paired wonderfully with braised beef short ribs and polenta.

  Belated Birthday Extravaganza (an Restaurant (Cary, NC)): Decanted for 1.5 hr. This wine exhibited a dark garnet/purple color with a nose of dried cherries, plums and raspberries with a black tea aspect. On the palate, flavors of blackberries and raspberries led to a peppery finish. A good wine... but just not exciting. HS88

  Unspectacular, but certainly tasty. Classic pepper, and food friendly, but not much better than others at this price point.

  4th Annual VinoCellar.com Celebration Weekend - Tastings and Dinners (Sonoma area, California): Tasted at the winery as part of the VinoCellar 4th Annual Celebration. Blueberry and black pepper flavors with a short bitter finish. Seemed on the young side but I didn't care for it.
