Holiday Party at Dr. T's (San Francisco): Dark purple color; nose is intriguing with some mint, red spicy fruit; palate is medium body, slightly thinner, not quite as much stuffing; finish is short. The nose is so good, too bad the palate is a little flat. Still an enjoyable wine, but I thought it was headed towards greatness after smelling the nose. 89-90

Brambly dark berry fruit on the nose...same plus some smoke on the palette. Past Lynmar Syrahs have disappointed a bit but this is very nice. Per Josh Reynolds...more like a dense, smoky Pinot than a gutsy Syrah...that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'm down to my last few Lynmars, sad to say. Lovely wines, place and people...unfortunately lately you pay premium prices for just very good wines.

AVTG does Syrah blind (Breggo Cellars): Tasted blind. Funk and black fruit on the nose. Soft and voluptuous, very generous with jammy, peppery, blackberry flavors. Very concentrated, intense, tasty. Very nice.
