Nose of dusty earth, deep dark cherry, ripe blackberry, leather strop (for a razor), horse saddle, some black pepper and cinnamon. There’s a good beautiful deepness to it. There’s still good tannin presence and acidity all throughout the tongue. The palate has black cherry, almost Dr Pepper/Dr Browns black cherry soda without the sugary sweetness. It’s much better than it sounds. Earth comes through with the cinnamon. There’s life and I’m curious to see where this goes. Better on day 2.

Fragrant, almost perfumy, with a mouthful of plump, concentrated dark fruit, walnut shell, and sweet, toasty, brown sugar-like intensity. I’m a big fan of this producer but I prefer a little less toasty sweetness in my Pinots. This was good but I liked Walt’s 2013 La Brisa much more than this vintage.

Lusher styled black fruit, clearly showing Pinot character, with charming sweet spice. Clearly on the ripe side with sweet notes throughout, but the concentration helps keep this in good enough balance.

Enjoyed at Fleming's with a petite filet and lobster topping. Good cherry and raspberry notes, with floral aromas adding to the overall profile. Sweet with little to complicate the fruit, this is a fun drinker to enjoy right now.

So overly sweet, just hard to drink.
