This wine has 2003 written all over it, but the fruit is wonderfully sweet and the hint of unripeness in the tannins is unproblematic with food. Moreish.

This wine needed to be decanted earlier in the day. It was pretty good as a pop and pour, but not as good as it would have been, Went very well with big morel mushrooms filled with foie gras, ok with sweetbreads in lemon caper sauce. The 1999 Drouhin Beaune Clos des Mouches blanc went better

Garagiste Burgundy Tasting (Seattle WA): Wine tasting. Not particularly forthcoming aromatically, then very dense ripe fruit on palate. Burly and structured tannins, not quite the acidity I'd want to bring everything together. Needs plenty of cellar time for a Villages level assemblage.

This wine was ruby red with a purple hint, with dark color intensity. Lots of oak jumps to the nose, withdark fruit, cherry and anise. Ripe, almost dried fruit, noticible acidity, medium to heavy in body and a medium finish
