decanted 2+ hours. complex, rich and well-balanced wine. We enjoyed it very much! Served with grilled Veal Chops and mushroom risotto. It followed a 1999 Lafite Rothschild and it tasted richer and more complex than the Lafite. I think this Dunn will continue to age beautifully and I am glad that I have 2 more bottles of it.

Splash decant. Deep dark electric ruby color. Crunchy peanut butter, tart raspberry, black olive, and brown sugar. Dry, dusty palate. Firm, medium intensity tannins on the longish finish.
This was a last minute pull by my host and we didn’t do it justice in regard to aeration. This absolutely needs an hour or two full decant. It kept improving over an hour of sipping. Not necessarily my style, but very fun nonetheless.

Very dark red; pruney nose; slightly sweet attack followed by a relatively dry middle, medium light prunes; lightly dry tannins; powerful without being overwhelming; guess it is still in its youth; price tag currently not justified, but perhaps just very early in its drinking window? Liked Caymus Special Selection 09 also tasted better tonight.

Mike has no debt: Something like a 6 hour decant. The nose is impressive. The palate has dense red fruit, red bell pepper, leather and noticeable tannin. This wine is fruity due to its youth, but seems to be a traditional Napa cab that will likely be a head-turner in 10 years.

This was easily my 2013 of the night against Schrader To Kalon, Hobbs Dr. Crane (especially good, too), and Peter Michael Au Paradis. That surprised me as a collector of Dunn HM from the 1980s and early 1990s, as I normally focus on drinking Dunn with 20+ years of age. Even very young, this outshines exceptional competition from the same vintage. Put simply, you aren't wasting your money to try this now. It's fantastic. A 100-point experience someday? Can't wait to see, and I wouldn't bet against it. Might be Dunn's best release ever.
