Had high hopes for this wine, but alas, it didn't really deliver.... Certainly full bodied and lots of nice fruit notes, but maybe a little hot and not very well integrated. Still a nice wine, just not what I was expecting from this high end Justin offering. Suggest drinking now.

Paired with lamb shoulder meal-to-go from Mourad in SF.
Opened about 3 hours before dinner and decanted for the last hour.
No delicate Syrah here... dark and full bodied with telltale purple edges and just a hint of browning.
Surprisingly jammy fruit upon opening and relatively soft tannins for a young-ish wine.
Classic Syrah profile - with currant and licorice on the nose.
Really popped with the lamb and the sage infused side dishes.
Long finish shortly after opening, but became shorter as the evening went on.
Lots going on, but everything has not yet fully integrated and it just doesn’t quite harmonize on the palate at this stage.
If you have more than one bottle, it would be OK to give it a go after a brief decant and not letting it get too much air over an extended period. I’ll personally wait a couple of years before opening the next bottle.
