A primary layer of crystalline rock-to-glass definition on the nose; beneath lies a walnut paste, quince and wild honey concoction that hints at the hands-off style. Dampened dandelion and bruised lily. Palette is supple, lean but staining, with hazelnut spread on just burnt toast closing the finish.
I like it, it's developed and warming in congruence with the vintage. But that's because I know exactly what to expect with Pico's wines. They're not for everyone.

American theme at Jungle Boy: Normally a big fan of this producer but this was a little over the top. Too natural, nutty and exotic for my liking. The 2017 was much better and I think the 1er crus are a significant step up in warmer vintages.

Deep straw; oaty, buttery, a citrus overtone; decent dash & cut right through to long finish. More measured than earlier bottles.
