Gave this to Paul for his boy’s dinner but ended up opening it for them and snuck a taste. Seemed better than my last bottle. Still youthful and full of dark ripe juicy fruit, some savory meaty notes and a hint of olives. Not super complex but enough there to be both tasty and interesting. And the drunk guys loved it for whatever that’s worth.
Independence Day wines with TWS crew (Crouch End Cellars): Dark-toned and heady, this drank younger than it actually was. Pretty classic whole-bunch Syrah, with blackberry, sour cherry, violet, some meatiness and a bitter tapenade-y finish. Good length and plenty of scope for this to get better with more time in the bottle. Think I liked this more than the others did.

Nearly the 4th July - North America (Crouch End Cellars): Very interesting, not very Syrah on the nose for me, more like Gamay or PN. Much more traditional Syrah on the palate, juicy, round and smooth with lashings of dark and red fruits. Very nice.

Raspberry, blueberry, plum, sage, some leather. Tannins present but fade nicely.
